HCPSS is nationally recognized for special education programming. Our BCBAs coordinate with HCPSS IEP and 504 teams — with family consent — to align home ABA goals with school supports. We can share strategies with classroom staff and attend team meetings when helpful.
Most Howard County families start with in-home ABA. Sessions are two to four hours, several days a week, delivered one-on-one by an RBT with weekly BCBA supervision and structured parent coaching. Community sessions expand into the places the family already spends time — the Columbia Mall play area, Centennial Park, or the lakes around Wilde Lake.
We often connect Howard County families with the Howard County Autism Society, the Howard County Infants and Toddlers Program, Linwood Center's autism programming, inclusive recreation through Howard County Rec & Parks, and the Miller Branch Library's sensory-friendly events.
