ABA Support in Daycare
When it is clinically appropriate and the daycare agrees to participate, ABA services may be provided in your child's daycare setting. This allows the team to work on goals during routines your child already experiences each day.
Working together to support your child
Children may communicate, play, follow directions, and respond to routines differently at daycare than they do at home. With caregiver permission, ABA Prep can communicate with daycare staff so everyone understands the child's goals and the strategies being used.
Our role is to support the child's ABA treatment plan while respecting the daycare's routines, classroom rules, and responsibilities.
What daycare-based support may include
Classroom Routines
Participating in arrival, cleanup, meals, group activities, and transitions.
Communication
Requesting items, asking for help, responding to adults, and expressing needs.
Peer Interaction
Playing near or with other children, sharing materials, and taking turns.
Following Directions
Responding to classroom instructions and completing age-appropriate activities.
Independence
Managing belongings, washing hands, eating, and completing simple routines.
Behavior Support
Teaching replacement skills and helping daycare staff understand approved strategies.
How daycare collaboration begins

The caregiver provides written permission for ABA Prep to communicate with the daycare.

The daycare confirms that outside ABA providers are permitted on-site.

The BCBA reviews the child's needs, classroom routines, safety considerations, and treatment goals.

The clinical team and daycare discuss scheduling, communication, and expectations.

The BCBA monitors progress and makes changes when needed.
Clear roles and expectations
ABA Prep staff do not replace daycare teachers or classroom aides. Our technicians work specifically with the child receiving ABA services and follow the treatment plan developed by the BCBA.
The daycare remains responsible for classroom supervision, educational activities, and its regular policies. Consistent communication between the caregiver, daycare, and ABA team helps prevent confusion.
